HISTORY: The Spirit of Halloween is a terrifying, bewitching Magical Knight. With his equally nightmare fuel horse and sword, the Soul Shredder, that sends people to their worst fears upon being struck, Fright Knight terrorized many years ago. It was enough to get his own chronicles. He is also a servant to the Ghost King, Pariah Dark. Though loyal, it is clear Fright Knight doesn’t enjoy his servitude and prefers to get out and either be his own man or serve someone who won’t constantly yell at him.
He first graced the screen when Danny explored his castle, bypassing his death course. The boy took his sword to up Dash against a Halloween haunted house contest, but he only incurred FK’s wrath instead. Breaking out of his pumpkin imprisonment, FK gave chase (so much that he actually opened the fucking Ghost Portal) and would not stop until he had his sword. He got it back and nearly reign terror in Amity Park until Danny blade blocked him in all its badassery. Chanting the incantation to seal him away, Danny trapped Fright Knight into a pumpkin.
Presumably placed back in the castle, Pariah Dark frees Fright Knight to restart his conquest. Joyous to be freed, Fright Knight grumpily sets to work on retrieving Pariah’s Ring of Rage and secure Amity Park for him to rule. He combats Danny, Vlad, and Valerie at a certain point, but joins up with the second after Pariah’s defeat, possibly. Nothing came out of this because executives crapped up Season 3.
Fright Knight briefly appears as Phantom's right hand man, in Danny’s dream ("Frightmare") and as one among many ghosts who saved the world from an asteroid in the grand finale.
PERSONALITY: He’s a booming, demanding, ruthless ghost who enjoys looking at the fear of every mortal in the world, usually caused by him. Though intimidating and seemingly loyal to whomever he serves, Fright Knight doesn’t take too kindly to those (Pariah) who treats him unfairly. He’s not above allying with another for that reason.
OPINION: Outside of what Vlad had planned to do with Fright Knight, there isn’t a whole lot I can say about him. His design is pure awesome and that’s really about it. He has a slight depth with his whole betrayal routine. Considering he worked for Phantom in another timeline and presumably Vlad, I think he enjoys being the dragon as long as he gets treated respectively. As the representative of Halloween, I can imagine the need for an ego boost.
