Black, White, and a hell of a Lot of Red

*Outfits for both Valerie and Danielle. The two are lumped together because 1. They don't have that many outfits and 2. They don't belong in other group categories I have planned for future Fashion pages.

1. Valerie Gray
Appeared in: "Parental Bonding"

Valerie’s first and primary wear is an overall bright colored ensemble. She sports long black wavy hair, the top covered with an orange bandanna.

Her tank top is yellow and her skirt a matching orange. She dons white (tennis?) shoes with yellow socks. She wears triangular shaped orange earrings and an equally orange necklace. She dons two sets of bracelets on each arm, one orange, the other yellow.

2. Unnecessary Expensive Lavender Shirt
Appeared in: "Shades Of Gray"

Valerie’s normal wear, except minus yellow tank top, hello $500+ lavender shirt. It gets smothered with coffee by accident. Valerie is not amused.

3. Ghost Hunter Gear (Version 1)
Appeared in: "Shades Of Gray"

... Tormented by ghosts that have ruined her life, Valerie unquestionably takes her brand new ghost hunter suit and weapons from Vlad, unaware of his true schemes and immediately gets to work. With it, she protects her secret identity (though Sam easily found out through her voice—oops) while chasing down those Ecto-Meanies. In bright, primary colors!

It’s mostly a red jumpsuit that covers her from head to toe. Her face is hidden behind a red mask with black visors. She can take off the mask while still donning the rest of the suit. She dons black gloves, belt, and boots. Her neck has a black collar, though not in the V-neck format as the Fentons’ jumpsuit. On her chest is an extra layer of clothing held together by three buttons. She sports a gray backpack. A simple, but very effective wear—a personal favorite.

"Flirting With Disasters" shows the suit holds electronics and microchips inside the flexible fabric. This usually lets Valerie get in and out of her suit with a push of a button (from a button on her wrist) as well as command her hover board and numerous gadgets. Despite how adjustable it is to Valerie’s body, the episode in question had it as solid as a rock when Danny destroyed it in order to lure Technus out.

The only other problem I have is that every time she wears this outfit, all the fat is magically sucked away. She’s a bit chunky when she's just Valerie, so why is she skinny here? What’s wrong with her keeping that figure even in ghost form? They do it again with her second ghost hunter wear.

4. Ember Obsessive Garbs
Appeared in: "Fanning The Flames"

... Trapped under Ember's spell and growing popularity, Valerie, too gets in on the diva love.

She wears a white T-shirt that adores Ember who's giving the "devil" sign, her name is written in lavender, and the background is covered in light blue fires. The sleeves are lined on each side. Her skirt is black with light blue flames on the bottom half.

5. Nasty Gnat
Appeared in: "Life Lessons"

When you go to Hell, tell them Itchy sent you! Secretly working in the Nasty Burger to save money for college, Valerie is forced to wear the Nasty Gnat costume, the burger joint’s mascot. It’s a silver bug with a white chef’s hat and a single curly blond hair as well as two yellow antennas with a red circular dot at each end. Its face is nothing but sunshine and smiles, so anyone wearing it is likely going to get abused by stoned college students and bratty children.

The costume has a giant red bow tie around the neck. The torso holds a yellow apron with the Nasty Burger logo as well as a small slit on the top for the dresser to see. Four red arms adorn the side, each wearing yellow gloves. The Gnat costume has red and white striped pants and red boots. I want to punch that outfit already.

6. Training Outfit
Appeared in: "Life Lessons"

This was a bitch to screencap. When Valerie is training herself, she sports a white tank top and short red pants with a single white stripe. She wears a matching red bandanna. Her earrings are the same as is her shoes (her socks are white though).

7. Future Valerie
Appeared in: "The Ultimate Enemy"

In an alternate future, Valerie stands as the sole protector of Amity Park, a city that is barely struggling to survive Phantom's regular onslaught.

Her hair is a short, military cut and it looks ridiculous on her. The entire outfit is basically her first ghost hunter gear. The major difference is the two belts crossing her chest and another on her waist. Her black gloves and boots reach up to her arms and thighs respectively. Her neck collar has a small black line with a silver tab sticking out of it. Her left wrist graces a communicator.

Interestingly, her Game Boy Advance outfit spots a big black blob on her jumpsuit, most likely what her intended design was before the final conception for the show.

8. Ghost Hunter Gear (Version 2)
Appeared in: "Flirting with Disasters"

This outfit is going to be complicated to describe. Hartman’s art styles are relatively simple, so this outfit stands out more as one of the more elaborate designs.

Unlike the previous hunter gear, Valerie’s outfit is predominantly black with red sprinkled all over. Her equally black helmet sports two red triangles on top of her red-tinted visor. Unlike the previous one, her entire face is shown. Red sectioned lines grace her upper torso, running to her arms. Her chest graces an upside down triangle with a solid smaller one inside. Tech-lines run through it.

She's got nice legs Her waist is lined in three V-shaped lines, the middle being the big one. Her gauntlets are also black with a pointy end, each with three sectored red squares. Her legs also has red sectored lines that reach to her knees, connecting with the red on her boots, and finishing it off as a tip near the end of her leg. Her soles are sectored red as well. Her left thigh carries a big red loop adorned with tech-lines. She has on a red backpack.

This outfit also spews out a hover board and a platoon of weapons, this time controlled through her mind or something.

Though a very keen and very badass outfit, it takes a slight backside to the first one because I prefer its simpler design and the fact that her face was covered. It conveyed a better sense of mystery that her current hunter gear doesn’t possess (the see-through visor on her face just reeks of cheesiness).

9. Nasty Burger Uniform
Appeared in: "Double Cross My Heart"

Valerie’s Nasty Burger uniform. She wears a white visor with an “N” on it. Her shirt is also white with another “N” on the left side and a red collar. The end of the sleeves is also red. It’s not shown in the picture, but she wears a red skirt. There’s an alternate version of this outfit that probably was meant to be the original ensemble before the animators finalized it into their current incarnation.

10. Winter Coat
Appeared in: "Phantom Planet"

... In the last segments of the final episode, Valerie is among the group of people operating the giant phasing machine to turn the planet intangible from an oncoming asteroid (yes, I know, bare with me).

Her jacket is the same lavender color as Jazz's jacket. She has a hood around the collar. Both her sleeve ends and bottom of the jacket is white. She dons orange leggings and what looks to be an orange shirt inside. I don't think her shoes are ever seen.

Danielle
___________________________________________

1. Human Danielle
Appeared in: "Kindred Spirits"

... Danielle’s first appearance oddly doesn’t have her wearing the same or similar clothing to Danny despite her cloned state. I don’t have a problem with it as I welcome the diversity, not to mention how corny that approach would have been. She still sports black hair (tied into a ponytail) and blue eyes, as well as one giant bang to keep some resemblance to Danny.

She dons a red beanie hat and matching shorts. Her jacket is blue with a pocket on the front and a hoodie surrounding the collar. Her shoes are blue with white tips, soles, and shoelaces, as is the small circle on the heel. Her socks are white.

Hammer Time? For some reason, her pants get swirly army pants-like design in “D-Stabilized”. Somebody not paying attention to her character bible or did she steal a new pair of pants during her time on the run? You be the judge.

2. Danielle Phantom
Appeared in: "Kindred Spirits"

See her profile for a better shot Now this outfit bares a much similar look with Danny’s, though with arguably better justification. More or less a feminine version of Danny’s garb, Danielle’s is slightly more complicated.

Aside from the standard white hair and green eyes, Danielle’s first half is a long sleeved midriff-baring outfit. Wow. Would you let your twelve-year-old go around revealing that much in public? The black and white color scheme is split in two, white on the right, black on the left. Her "DP" logo is in the black to encase its standard white coloring scheme. She dons gloves that seem separate to her outfit as oppose to Danny’s; one is white, the other black, contrasting whatever color sleeves she has on.

Her bottom half is essentially pants that looks more parachute then anything. It too is cut in half with black in the inside, white out. Her boots are white.
