HISTORY: It’s getting to the point where I wonder bother putting up a “History” section for the Season Three cast let alone their main profiles. Nocturn and his cronies of Season Three have little to no depth. Nocturn does what most of Season Three villains have done: take over the world for their own reasons. In Nocturn’s case, sucking up people’s dream energy after he puts them to sleep with his army to gain power. Power for what? God only knows. After putting Danny to sleep (but before foolishly waking him up for some reason) and whisking him away into the Ghost Zone, Nocturn turned the entire town of Amity Park into sleepville. Danny eventually figured out the entire ploy and with the help of Sam, Tucker, and Jazz--whom he managed to wake them all up via invading their dreams and turning them into nightmares--all work together to destroy the antennae sucking up the dreams in a mattress factory he’s been hiding recharging in. He loses, gets sucked, end of story (“Frightmare”).
He makes a small cameo in “Phantom Planet” as one of the many ghosts helping Danny stop an asteroid from hitting Earth.
PERSONALITY: Again, it’s hard to tell for Season Three villains. He’s clearly confident, thinks he can best Danny, and is greedy in his desire to grow stronger. He’s appearance and silent tour around Amity Park, putting everyone to sleep gives him a mysterious, enigmatic edge that works well with his character design and almost passive power of sleep. Too bad that’s all he’s got working for him.
NEO YI’s OPINION: I don’t hate ‘em, nor do I care for him. Like the others, he’s had potential washed down the sink. Shame since he’s not only got a killer awesome voice, but a super cool design. Seriously, I give major kudos to the design team.
